As a new teacher, I am very aware that there are many things I don’t know yet, and I look forward to forging relationships with my fellow educators, with administrators, and district experts who will help me learn and progress. My experience outside of public education, however, provides me with insights into the business world where many of our students may find themselves in just a few short years. Not only that, but it has ensured that I am tech-savvy and computer literate.
As the parent of two children who have had their share of emotional, social, and educational issues, one of my strengths is that I have the experience and empathy to relate to both students who are struggling and the concerns of their parents. My philosophy of teaching leadership is to that they best way to learn is to experience it. With myself as a facilitator and delegator believe in providing opportunities for students to take the lead, knowing that I will be there to assist and guide them.
Learning is a life-long endeavor, and I plan on sharing honestly with my students my own journey, challenges and successes alike. I continue to pursue my own educational goals with the aim of improving my content and teaching knowledge. My goal is find a permanent teaching position where I can continue to grow and evolve as an educator for the foreseeable future.
