My name is Christine Rodriguez and I am an aspiring English Language Arts educator. I believe students come to the classroom with their own brand of genius, eager to discover what they can accomplish with it. My job is to provide opportunities for exploration and mastery. I help students learn by fostering a safe environment in which to grow, allowing students to guide their own learning through goal setting, experimentation, and reflection, and by modeling, scaffolding, and encouraging the skills needed to become life-long learners.
I have two children–my daughter is a nurse, and my son just graduated from high school. My husband is a computer scientist and amateur van converter. We all like to play card games and board games, and we enjoy road trips together. We have three cats–Zelda, Emerelda, and Totoro.
In my free time I like to draw, knit, play Minecraft, and read. I have a large extended family in Utah and Colorado which I visit regularly. I absolutely love living in Connecticut near the beach, but I miss the mountains all the time.
